Grants are a great way to help pay for college because unlike loans, they don’t have to be repaid! Eligibility for most grants is based on financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By completing your FAFSA, you’ll automatically be considered for several types of grant programs.
Here are some of the most common grants available to Aultman College students:
- Federal Pell Grant
Awarded primarily to undergraduate students based on financial need. If you qualify, you’ll automatically receive the amount determined by the federal government. Award amounts vary each year and are adjusted based on how many credit hours you take.
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
This need-based grant is for students with the greatest financial need who qualify for the Pell Grant. Funds are limited, so priority is given to students with the lowest Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
- Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG)
Available to Ohio residents, this state-funded grant supports both full-time and part-time students and is based on financial need as shown on your FAFSA.
Completing your FAFSA early is the best way to make sure you’re considered for all available grant opportunities.
