Clinical Rotations

Hands-on learning is at the heart of Aultman College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Students gain real-world experience through clinical rotations at a variety of healthcare sites, applying their classroom knowledge in professional settings. Expect a full, immersive schedule on campus and in clinicals up to five days a week with students responsible for their own transportation to clinical locations.

Students gain real-world experience through clinical rotations at Aultman Health System locations and other healthcare sites across Northeast Ohio, all within approximately a 50-mile radius of the college. These rotations provide diverse, hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for success in the field.

Licensure Information

Graduates of Aultman College's 65-hour Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (AASDMS) program are prepared to sit for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Once they are certified, AASDMS graduates are eligible for employment in hospitals, clinics, or physician offices as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and/or a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). Passing the ARDMS is a requirement for receiving an Ohio diagnostic medical sonography license.

Graduates of the AASDMS program are eligible to take their licensure exam in Ohio. Passing the ARDMS is a requirement for receiving an Ohio diagnostic medical sonography license.

Tuition and Fees

  • $9,850 a semester (12-18 credit hours)
  • $840 per credit hour (fewer than 12 credit hours)
